In 2015, Renée, was a student at F. Niel Postlethwait Middle School. She was given a math project by her 8th grade teacher, Mr. Tim Finley. The task was to raise funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Fueled by her passion for dance, she envisioned Works of Heart; a chance for young dancers to come together to share their original choreography...something that they can’t always do in their respective studios. Renée’s hope has always been that while the dancers slay on stage, an awareness for the needs of others will grow. She knew in 2016 that it was time that we spread a message of hope and resilience; that message continues today.
Renée is a student at Tatiana Akinfieva Dance Academy, a member of Diamond Dance Company, a founding member of Dreams of Hope and a three-time award winner at the Delaware Dance Festival. She has studied at the Dance Conservatory, Baltimore School for the Arts, Debbie Allen Dance Academy Summer Intensive, Dance Theater of Harlem, and the Mason Gross School for the Arts at Rutgers University.
In the fall of 2020, Renée will enter her freshman year at Old Dominion University in Virginia, where she wll study nursing in preparation for a career as a physician assistant.
